Around the Well

ironwine Iron and Wine is one of my favorite bands. This new 2 disc set came out this week. It’s a compilation of b-sides, rarities, and previously unreleased material. It’s as good as any official album they (aka Sam Beam) have released. It takes you on a bit of a journey through the history of I&W, from the simple, chill, rhythmic, finger-picking acoustic songs from around the time of those first couple albums, to the more experimental sound of more recent projects (adding percussion, harmonies & a wider range of instruments to the existing formula).  Definately one of the best albums out this year. I highly recommend it!
